⛪️ Faith > Fear

I recently saw a post about an image on a beauty product. The image located on the item was said to be satanic in nature.

I understand the desire to be discerning. Truly. But if my faith was rooted in fear of evil entering my house through objects or imagery, I’d be bed-bound and paralyzed. There is far more evil in this world than any of us could ever filter out by avoiding symbols alone.

My peace isn’t built on trying to eliminate every possible threat. It’s built on Christ.

Scripture reminds us that we’re covered and protected. “No weapon formed against you shall prosper” (Isaiah 54:17). “Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world” (1 John 4:4). That kind of assurance doesn’t produce fear. It produces steadiness.

Discernment matters. Wisdom matters. But there’s a difference between living aware and living afraid. When fear becomes the loudest voice, it can make faith look fragile to people who are already unsure about Christianity. I don’t want my faith to communicate anxiety. I want it to communicate confidence in Jesus.

If we truly believed evil could slip into our homes through every symbol, brand, or object, we’d never rest. We’d never feel safe. But the gospel is not about living on high alert. It’s about living anchored.

My home is not protected because I perfectly filtered every item inside it. It’s protected because Christ is Lord of it.

... Read moreIn my personal journey, I've often encountered moments when fear of unseen spiritual threats crept into my thoughts—especially around symbols or objects that others might label as negative or even satanic. Like the image on a beauty product that sparked debate, symbols can trigger anxiety if we lean too heavily on fear rather than faith. What helped me grow beyond this fear was focusing on what Scripture teaches about God's protection. Passages like Isaiah 54:17 and 1 John 4:4 remind me daily that protection isn't about physical barriers or controlling every detail in my surroundings, but about trusting the power of Christ within me. This mindset shift makes a tremendous difference. It frees me from the paralysis of fear and enables me to live boldly and peacefully. I find that true discernment is about staying alert yet anchored—aware of spiritual realities without giving in to paranoia. This approach also helps when sharing faith with others; instead of appearing fearful or anxious, our confidence shines as a witness to God’s grace and strength. Moreover, faith that overcomes fear encourages community and open-heartedness. When we're not consumed by worries over symbols or objects, we're more able to focus on love, service, and growth in Christ. This is especially meaningful in today’s culture, where misinformation about symbols can cause unnecessary division. Embracing faith over fear means anchoring your home and heart not in things, but in the Lord who commands peace and protection. Ultimately, I encourage anyone struggling with fear of evil influences through objects to remember: confidence in Christ is the foundation of peace. Let your faith be louder than your worries, and watch how this transforms your spiritual life and environment.
