Trying the Aztec Mask
#letschat #skincare #facial masks
So I saw great things being said about this mask so I decided to try it!!! Here are all the stages of the mask and it isn’t really hard or time consuming at all! You can apply the mask and continue on doing whatever you were doing or watch a show, etc!
I definitely do recommend the mask! I can definitely see a difference, and some of my acne has cleared or has went down! I’m hoping it helps with my dark spots as well because that makes more forehead acne look worse!!
But overall I give it a 10/10 and I hope to see more improvement as I continue to use it!!! Also if y’all have any other suggestions for dark spots, forehead acne, or acne in general 😵💫 lmk!!!
Okay, so you've got the Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay jar, right? The key to getting the most out of this mask is all about how you mix it to create the perfect consistency. I've found that mixing the powder with apple cider vinegar (ACV) gives me the absolute best results. The ACV really activates the clay, creating that satisfying fizz and making the mask even more potent. Just a heads-up: always use a non-metal bowl and spoon! Metal can react with the clay, reducing its effectiveness. I usually start with a 1:1 ratio – maybe a tablespoon of powder and a tablespoon of ACV – then slowly add more liquid until I get a smooth, creamy mixed mask texture, like a thick, spreadable paste. It shouldn't be too runny or too clumpy, just right for an even application. Once it's mixed, I apply a thick layer evenly over my clean face, making sure to avoid the delicate eye area because it can be quite strong. You'll probably feel it start to tighten almost immediately, which is totally normal! I typically leave it on for about 10-15 minutes, or until it's completely dry and you can see it crack on your face, just like you see in some of the pictures. If you have sensitive skin, I'd recommend starting with a shorter time, like 5-7 minutes. It’s important not to leave it on for too long, as it’s a powerful mask. While the mask is on, you'll definitely feel a pulsing or tightening sensation – it feels like it's really working to pull out impurities! Your face might also look a bit red right after you wash it off, which usually subsides within 30 minutes to an hour. This redness is just increased blood flow to the surface of your skin, bringing nutrients and helping with detoxification. After rinsing off the mask with warm water, it's super important to moisturize generously to rehydrate your skin. I love using a hydrating serum first, then locking it all in with a rich moisturizer. Beyond just helping with active breakouts and clearing up my acne (especially that persistent forehead acne!), I've noticed my pores look significantly smaller, and my skin feels incredibly clean and detoxified after using this mask. Regarding those stubborn dark spots and acne marks, while the Aztec clay mask is fantastic for drawing out impurities and reducing inflammation (which helps prevent new dark spots from forming), it's not a direct dark spot remover in the same way a specific brightening serum might be. However, by keeping breakouts at bay and offering gentle exfoliation, it can certainly help to fade them over time. For a more targeted approach to dark spots, I've found incorporating Vitamin C serums or Niacinamide into my routine on days I don't mask can make a huge difference. And a non-negotiable tip for preventing dark spots from worsening and speeding up the fading process? Consistent daily sunscreen use! How often should you use this powerful mask? For my skin, which can be a bit sensitive, I stick to once a week. This mask is really potent, so overdoing it might cause irritation. Always listen to your skin! If you have very oily skin with persistent breakouts, you might find twice a week beneficial, but I’d always recommend doing a patch test first to see how your skin reacts.
