Chess Pie ♟️🥧

About a month ago I went to a restaurant in Alabama & they had chess pie! I’ve never heard of it before so of course I had to try some! It’s very interesting, like a cake/ custard / brown butter / sugar cookie taste! Hard to describe 😅 Adding a scoop of ice cream - perfect 🥰

Ingredients:

✨ 1/2 cup Butter

✨ 1 1/4 cup Sugar

✨ 2 tbl Cornmeal

✨ 1 tbl Flour

✨ 4 Eggs

✨ 1/3 cup Milk

✨ 1 tbl White Vinegar

✨ 1 tbl Vanilla

✨ Graham Cracked Crust

💥 Preheat oven to 350°

💥 In a pan, melt better on low heat! Cook until browned then set aside to cool!

💥 In a bowl, mix together sugar, cornmeal, & flour

💥 In another bowl, beat eggs then add milk, vinegar, vanilla & butter

💥 Mix the wet batter with the dry until smooth

💥 Pour batter into graham cracker crust & bake for 45 minutes ( the edges will be first but the center will look a little jiggly )

💥 Cool for 35 minutes before cutting

OK, so I’ve never tried chess pie and I’ve never even heard of it before but that looks absolutely delicious and the way you describe the flavors is my absolute favorite flavors and sweet treats or bakery guts so I would love to try this, but I’m without a kitchen at the moment😭😭😭
