🩵 My Story: In 2023, I quit my high-paying office job after just one year. I had went through a very hard patch in life and was feeling so empty and lost. I wanted to show myself that I can change my life on a dime. So, after a year of paying off all $40,000 in student debts, I left for South Korea with an English teaching job.
💚 How I Felt: It wasn't what you would've imagined. Life didn't become rosy and wonderful just because I changed countries. In fact, after a few months, the reality hit that I gave up a lot and leveled down my life quality. Especially in terms of money - I took a 5x pay cut. And I still didn't figure out what I want in life.
🧡 The Good Things: However, good things did happen. I met the love of my life. I learned the importance of financial education and reading books. I became very advanced in Korean and am currently a level 5 student. I found my passion on pole dancing. I was able to travel to Japan and China (and see my relatives again for the first time in 11 years!!) because I am finally living close by.
❤️ My Takeaways: I'm now 25 and still lost in life. I'm not sure what the future holds, or even which direction to head towards. But I know that I am trying, always working hard, always opening myself to new things that come my way.
