One aspect that stood out to me is how fusion could address critical global challenges like fresh water shortages through unlimited desalination capabilities powered by cheap electricity. This directly ties into the broader vision of lifting barriers and fueling unprecedented industrial and social development. Of course, considerable scientific and engineering obstacles remain, such as finding materials that can withstand prolonged neutron radiation and achieving a self-sustaining fuel cycle. But China's dedicated research institutes and large-scale test facilities like the "Kuafu" engineering platform indicate a systemic effort to overcome these hurdles rather than chasing short-term gains. Drawing from this, it feels like the nuclear fusion pursuit is not just about technological innovation but also strategic foresight and persistence. The race is indeed a rivalry, but it's also a global quest that holds promise for anyone who dreams of a future with truly unlimited, clean, and affordable energy.
