Chasing Nicole: A Dark Paranormal Romance book 3
Wintermoon, another Vampire Tale. Nicole and Bobby: We meet Nicole in Nia's story and see her as she awaits her fated mate. And we meet Bobby when we dive into Carla and Amari’s story. Nicole is a therapist in Wintermoon. Nicole rebuilt her life after trauma, one careful boundary at a time. Bobby walked into it - a vampire lieutenant with a revolutionary past and eyes that tracked her every move. His pursuit was relentless. His interest is undeniable.
Bobby never thought he would find his fated mate this fast. Damon and Amari spent centuries waiting for their fated mate. I like Bobby; he was patient, kind, and loving. Spicy scene was A+.
I saw someone say that they didn’t like how Bobby was putting Nicole in harm's way multiple times in this book, but that’s not the whole truth. Nicole was very stubborn; she didn’t like to listen. I felt so sorry for Nicole for what happened to her before she met Bobby. Anthony Tucker, a radical, snuck into her home with more men and did horrible things to her. Ever since then, Nicole has had nightmares every night about what happened to her. Nicole has aggravated me at times in this book. She was very stubborn. She said she wanted to be in her soft girl era, but instead, she was always fighting Bobby over things, rather than listening to what would keep her safe. Josiah made the book more interesting. Josiah didn’t give two fucks. He was funny as hell, too. I was disappointed by how everyone treated him, as if he were a monster. Josiah was enslaved until 1823, when Damon turned him in after being beaten nearly to death as a runaway. Josiah got a lot of trauma. He watched his mother and siblings get taken, and he also watched his child get killed in front of him. That's why I liked it when Nicole and Josiah became close; it felt like she could understand him and relate to him, and Josiah knew that. Josiah looks at Nicole as his sister; she reminds him of his sister. Josiah's book is next, can't wait because babee he's going to raise hell. Anthony Tucker got what he deserved. It's about time that scene was good. When Nicole became a Vampire, she was doing a lot, not listening, and she hated it at first. She even blames Bobby for turning her, even though he did it to save her life. The Scene when she came to the academy after she was turned was sad; nobody wanted her there. Bobby and Amari tried to warn her that the other shifters don't like vampires. They learn how to deal with it, and Bobby said she will as well. But at the same time, she is a newborn Vampire; she could have hurt someone, she didn't have control over her abilities, etc., so I could see why they didn’t want her there right now. The students thought it was cool that she is a Vampire. But when she slapped Angie, she deserved it, 'cause Angie could be a bitch at times, but she was also an honest person who said rude things. Those damn spiders, Kemnebi and Moria, are something else. They're funny too, even Tori, when she was going back and forth with Nicole because Nicole was sitting in her spot next to her daddy, Amari. I dislike how long it took her to claim Bobby, basically, to the end of the book. Nicole and Nia made up, that's good. Ezra and Aye, I can't wait to read their book; it's going to be interesting. Ezra is a dragon, and Aye is a wolf; they are fated mates just like Torin and Nala were. They are so young, too, still kids. Ezra is so sweet with his little poems to Aye.

In "Chasing Nicole: A Dark Paranormal Romance Book 3," the story deeply explores themes of trauma, resilience, and the complexities of forming new bonds within a paranormal universe filled with vampires, shifters, and other supernatural beings. Nicole’s journey from a traumatized human to a fledgling vampire underlines the emotional and psychological challenges faced by those who undergo transformation, both literal and metaphorical. Her nightmares stemming from past horrors at the hands of Anthony Tucker illustrate how survivors carry their scars even as they attempt to build new lives. The evolving relationship between Nicole and Bobby highlights the delicate balance between love, protection, and independence in dark romance. Bobby’s role as a vampire lieutenant with a revolutionary background adds layers to his character, making his relentless pursuit of Nicole a mix of tenderness and intensity. Their interactions raise important questions about safety, trust, and the boundaries necessary in relationships with power imbalances or supernatural elements. Josiah’s character introduces a poignant subplot about trauma, enslavement, and the struggle for freedom. His bond with Nicole, rooted in shared understanding and empathy, enriches the narrative and hints at the broader community within Wintermoon. This approach reflects how dark paranormal stories often interweave multiple characters’ backstories to create a tapestry of interconnected lives and struggles. The setting of the academy, where newborn vampires like Nicole face skepticism and hostility from shifters and others, serves as a microcosm of prejudice and acceptance. The tension Nicole experiences, including confrontations like the one with Angie, illustrates the difficulties new members of supernatural communities face, particularly when their powers are unstable. This is a realistic portrayal of adaptation challenges, resonating with readers familiar with social exclusion or navigating new environments. Humor and levity provided by characters such as Kemnebi, Moria, and Tori help balance the darker tones of the story, making the world more vibrant and multidimensional. Meanwhile, the anticipation for upcoming books centered on characters like Josiah, Ezra, and Aye shows the series’ commitment to expanding its universe and exploring new relationships, particularly the concept of fated mates among different species (dragons, wolves, vampires). The quote highlighted in the OCR, "A new beginning isn't about forgetting the past, but understanding how it shaped you for the journey ahead," powerfully encapsulates Nicole’s arc and the overarching message of the series. It reminds readers that healing and growth arise not from erasing trauma but from integrating it into one's identity to move forward stronger. Overall, this installment combines dark romance, paranormal thrills, and emotional depth to deliver a compelling reading experience for fans of vampire fiction and supernatural love stories. For those interested in exploring themes of love, trauma recovery, and supernatural dynamics, "Chasing Nicole" offers a richly textured tale of transformation and endurance.
