This book is about forgiveness, second chances, growth, accountability, and love. Zae is a strong man to share his woman with another man, but he always knew Creek had loved Ares before she actually realized it. I like Zae; he was very confident, and the way he took care of Creek was too cute. Ares' parents played a big part in their friendship ending. They didn't like Creek and wanted their son far away from her. Ares' parents pissed me off. Ares should have been more upfront with his parents. Grandmother GiGi dropping that knowledge. She said, "yโall shut down all that noise around yโall. People gonna talkโฆ love who you love!. I loved Gigi's encouragement for them to live in their truth, and I loved that Ares finally chose to live for himself and his happiness, rather than being so focused on what his parents wanted or expected of him. I like it when Zae and Ares stood up for Creek when they tried to single her out, saying the parents at school feel uncomfortable with the relationship she's got going with both men. Ares, Zae & Creek definitely bought the heat, but more importantly, the bond they shared, the forgiveness they gave one another, and their choice of each other were so amazing.
