DA2 Companion Discourse
This is how I imagine the DA2 companions spend their free time. making fun of Fenris lol
You know, thinking about what the DA2 companions do in their free time, it makes me wonder about their more 'serious' moments too, or how they'd react to something outside their usual banter. Like, what if there was a "donation box" in Kirkwall? Not just for money, but for supplies for the refugees, or even just for fun, quirky items for a community project. I can totally picture a 'Zoom Meeting' scenario with Hawke trying to organize a community drive. Fenris, of course, would probably be brooding in the corner, scoffing at the idea of charity from the wealthy, but then secretly leaving a perfectly sharpened dagger in the box, claiming it was 'useless to him.' Varric, on the other hand, would be all over it, probably trying to organize a grand raffle or a storytelling event to raise goods, spinning tales so compelling people would empty their pockets. He'd probably try to sneak some of his famous 'regular butter' into the food donations, just to see if anyone notices the artisanal quality. And Isabella? She'd probably 'donate' some questionable trinkets she... *found*, with a wink and a promise that they're 'pre-loved.' Aveline would be meticulous, checking every item for quality and ensuring proper distribution, likely giving anyone who questioned her methods a stern look that would make them 'explain himself??' instantly. Merrill would probably offer a beautifully carved wooden charm, completely oblivious to its monetary value but convinced of its spiritual worth. And Anders... well, he'd be torn between his humanitarian ideals and the potential for a spirit of justice to get too involved in the donation process. He might even try to 'donate' some healing potions he 'borrowed' from the Circle. It’s these little details, imagining how their personalities would mesh with everyday situations, that really brings the world of Dragon Age 2 to life for me. Beyond just making fun of Fenris or debating whether to put 'skittles with the popcorn' (which, let's be honest, someone like Varric would absolutely try), it's about seeing their deeper characters. The 'donation box' concept, whether it's a real game mechanic or just a fan's imaginative prompt, opens up so many possibilities for character interaction and lore exploration. It makes you think about the struggles of Kirkwall beyond the main quest, and how even small acts of kindness or contribution could shape the lives of its citizens, and by extension, our beloved companions. It adds another layer to the discourse we have about these characters, doesn't it? It's not just about battles and choices, but also about their everyday humanity, or lack thereof, depending on who you ask! FR HAHAHAA!
