How do you count how many states you’ve been to?
As someone trying to reach all 50 states, I’ve become a bit picky when it comes to what states I count as visited here’s some of my “criteria”
- must leave the airport
- must either eat a meal or stay a night in the state
- layovers or driving through does not count!
How many states have you visited?
I’ve visited 28 states in the United States! And my favorite states are Tennessee, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New York, Alabama, Utah and Colorado.#statesivebeento
When planning to visit or recount how many states you've explored, consider a few essential factors to enhance your journey. Traveling through airports or drive-by visits shouldn't count as fulfilling your adventure in a state. Instead, aim to immerse yourself in the local culture. This means stepping out of the airport to experience iconic landmarks, savoring regional cuisine, or staying overnight to soak in the atmosphere. Many travelers have unique methods for counting their visits, often inspired by personal criteria, such as participating in local events, or engaging with residents. Popular destinations, like Tennessee and Colorado, not only offer stunning landscapes but also rich histories and vibrant cultures. To get an accurate count, ensure your experience is meaningful—visiting attractions, attending festivals, or spending quality time in various neighborhoods. Embrace the joy of exploration and connection! Using hashtags like #statesivebeento can help you keep track of your adventures and connect with fellow travelers who share your enthusiasm for discovering these diverse states.
