Birthday 33!!

... Read moreWow, 33! It feels like just yesterday I was planning my 30th, and here we are. My own 33rd birthday recently rolled around, and I spent some time really thinking about what I wanted to do for it. If you're also wondering 'what to do for 33rd birthday,' you've come to the right place! I wanted to share some of the ideas I explored and how I ultimately celebrated, hoping to inspire your special day. For my 33rd birthday, I really leaned into the idea of experiences over things. Here are a few paths you can take, whether you're looking for something low-key or a grand adventure: 1. The Relaxed & Rejuvenating Celebration: Sometimes, the best way to celebrate another year is by simply taking care of yourself. Consider a luxurious spa day, either at home with a DIY pamper session or at a professional spa. A cozy staycation at a boutique hotel in your own city can also feel incredibly indulgent. I've found that simply dedicating a day to reading, baking, or just lounging (maybe even in a stylish maroon zippered jacket and pink shirt, like I sported for part of my day!) can be incredibly fulfilling. It's all about unwinding and recharging for the year ahead. 2. The Adventurous & Exploratory Birthday: If you're like me and love to explore, turning 33 is a fantastic excuse for an adventure! A road trip, even a short one to a nearby town or scenic spot, can be exhilarating. Grab your black sunglasses and hit the open road! Discovering a new hiking trail, trying out a new water sport, or even exploring a part of your city you've never visited can add excitement. For my birthday, I actually took a drive to a small coastal town I hadn't been to before, just enjoying the journey and the change of scenery. 3. The Social & Connected Gathering: For many, birthdays are about spending time with loved ones. You don't need a huge party; an intimate dinner with close friends at your favorite restaurant, a fun game night at home, or even a picnic in the park can be perfect. I opted for a small brunch with my closest friends – good food and even better conversation. It's a wonderful way to feel cherished and appreciated as you step into your 33rd year. 4. The Personal Growth & Learning Experience: Why not use your 33rd birthday as an opportunity to learn something new? Sign up for a workshop – pottery, cooking, photography, or even a dance class. It’s a great way to invest in yourself and start a new hobby. Or, if you've been meaning to tackle a personal project, dedicate your birthday to making significant progress. 5. The Giving Back Celebration: Sometimes, the greatest joy comes from helping others. Volunteering your time at a local charity, helping out at an animal shelter, or participating in a community clean-up drive can be an incredibly rewarding way to spend your 33rd birthday. It puts things in perspective and makes you feel good from the inside out. No matter what you choose to do for your 33rd birthday, remember that it's your day. Make it meaningful and memorable for you. Don't feel pressured to do something extravagant if that's not what you truly want. Here's to making your 33rd year your best one yet!
