Comparison steals peace.

From my personal experience, battling with feelings of jealousy and comparison can be exhausting and disheartening. Even when I tried to put on a brave face and congratulate others on their achievements, inside I often felt a quiet sting that made me question my own progress and worth. This reminds me of Proverbs 14:30 that says, "A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones." This scripture really hit home as I recognized how harmful envy can be to my sense of well-being. Over time, I learned that acknowledging these feelings without judgment is the first step toward healing. When I transparently prayed, asking God to forgive me for comparing my journey to others' highlights and to heal my heart from envy, I started to notice a shift. Trusting that God's timing is perfect and that what is meant for me will not pass me by helped me focus more on my unique path instead of someone else’s. One practical approach that helped was journaling about my feelings and milestones, no matter how small they seemed compared to others. Celebrating these moments cultivated gratitude and reduced my tendency to compare. Also, surrounding myself with supportive communities who shared similar struggles created a safe space for encouragement rather than competition. Through faith and mindful heart-checks, I became better at celebrating others without resentment. This journey is ongoing, but I believe that embracing faith over comparison invites peace into our hearts, freeing us from the silent theft of joy that envy often brings.
