Spiritual inconsistency is a common experience many of us face as we navigate life's ups and downs. I’ve found that embracing stillness, even when my mind feels restless, helps me reconnect with my faith and find inner peace. Psalm 46:10—"Be still, and know that I am God"—reminds me to pause and surrender control, trusting that God’s presence is with me in every moment. In practice, cultivating stillness isn't always easy. Some days, I’m naturally calm and can reflect deeply, while other days, my thoughts roam endlessly and distractions abound. What has helped me is setting aside dedicated time to be still, whether through prayer, meditation, or simply sitting quietly without rushing. Gradually, this practice has allowed me to notice subtle shifts in my spirit, helping me become more aware of God’s guidance even amidst uncertainty. Additionally, acknowledging that spiritual growth is not linear has been freeing. Feeling spiritually inconsistent doesn’t mean failure; it’s a part of the journey. By leaning into stillness and patience, I’ve come to understand that these restless times can lead to deeper awareness and renewed faith. Remember, being still is an active choice—a gentle yet powerful way to realign with God’s plan and find peace in the present moment.
