You don’t need to be better to come to Jesus.

Many people struggle with the misconception that they must clean up their lives or become better people before they can approach Jesus. But the truth, as highlighted in Mark 2:17, is that Jesus came not for the righteous, but for sinners—those who recognize their need for grace and healing. From personal experience, I found that waiting for 'perfection' before seeking spiritual connection only deepened my feelings of unworthiness. It wasn't until I embraced the idea that Jesus meets us in our mess, our struggles, and our imperfections that I truly felt peace and acceptance. Jesus’ example of sitting with those considered 'undeserving' or 'unclean' shows that faith is not a club of the flawless but a community of real people who need love and support. Instead of a waiting room for perfect people, Jesus offers an open door to anyone who is willing to come as they are. This approach frees many from the burden of shame and the pressure to perform spiritually. Instead, it invites authentic connection and transformation through grace. Whether you feel spiritually inconsistent, ashamed, or unqualified, remember that these feelings don’t disqualify you—they make you exactly the person Jesus intended to reach. In real life, this means embracing your struggles as part of your journey, allowing yourself to be vulnerable, and trusting in the grace that Jesus offers. It’s not about how good you are but how open you are to receive love and healing. When you approach faith this way, it becomes a source of strength and renewal, not judgment or obligation.
