Some lies lose power the moment you believe...
In my personal journey of faith, I've often grappled with feelings of inadequacy and the loud inner voice that echoes lies like "You're not enough" or "You've disappointed God." These negative thoughts can be overwhelming and discourage spiritual growth. However, reflecting deeply on Ephesians 3:18-19 has been transformative for me. This scripture reminds us of the vastness of Christ’s love — wide, long, high, and deep — a love that surpasses human knowledge and feelings. What resonated most was the idea that the true battle isn’t about our mistakes, but about whether we truly accept that we are deeply loved despite them. When I started to actively believe in God's unconditional love, I noticed a significant shift. The lies lost their power the moment I chose to trust that God’s love defines my worth. It hasn't been an instant change — often, it’s a daily decision to silence shame, fear, and accusations by letting Scripture speak louder into my heart than my doubts. One practice that helped me was prayerfully asking God to help me grasp this love internally, not just intellectually. Praying for my heart to be rooted deeply in His love allowed me to live life with greater freedom, no longer haunted by guilt or fear of failure. Even when I feel less than perfect, I remind myself that God’s love remains constant and stronger than any disappointing feelings. For anyone struggling with self-doubt or spiritual discouragement, I encourage exploring passages like Ephesians 3 and personalizing them through prayer. It can be incredibly uplifting to journal your thoughts and prayers about God's love or discuss these feelings within a supportive faith community. Understanding that God’s love surpasses our understanding creates a foundation to confidently face life’s challenges without being bogged down by lies. Ultimately, learning to live like you are fully known and still fully loved changed how I navigate my faith journey. It’s a powerful reminder that we are valued beyond measure, and every day is an opportunity to embrace that truth more fully.
