Chocolate-Covered Cookie Dough Hearts 🍪❤️
These are super easy and incredibly delicious. I used Eat Pastry cookie dough and pressed it into a heart mold. I let the cookie dough set out for a bit first so that it was easy to work with. After I filled all of the mold cavities, I refrigerated it for a couple of hours.
I popped them out of the mold and let them sit again so that they weren’t ice cold. (If they’re too cold it’s hard to dip them bc they set instantly.). I dipped each one in Ghirardelli milk chocolate. I gave them a tiny spray of pink glitter and that was it! So so good!

Okay, so you’ve seen how simple it is to make these adorable chocolate-dipped cookie dough hearts, right? But let's dive even deeper into the wonderful world of edible cookie dough! Sometimes, we just want that raw dough taste without the worry. The key is to use heat-treated flour (you can buy it or toast regular flour yourself) and skip the raw eggs. Many store-bought tubs of cookie dough are already formulated to be safe for eating raw, which makes these heart treats even quicker! Just look for labels that say "edible" or "safe to eat raw." It really opens up a world of no-bake possibilities. Beyond the milk chocolate and pink glitter, there are so many ways to customize your hearts! Imagine using dark chocolate for a rich, intense flavor, or even white chocolate with a hint of red food coloring for a vibrant Valentine's treat. You could sprinkle them with sea salt after dipping for a gourmet touch, or use crushed freeze-dried raspberries for natural color and tang. What about adding a tiny bit of peppermint extract to your cookie dough for a mint chocolate chip vibe? Or mixing in some finely crushed Oreos into the cookie dough before molding for a 'cookie dough Oreo cookies' twist? The possibilities are endless when you're playing with a simple base like this. And what if you have extra cookie dough or want to try something different? Don't stop at hearts! You can roll the dough into small balls, dip them, and make chocolate-dipped cookie dough truffles – perfect for a quick snack or a party platter. Press a layer of dough into a pan, top with melted chocolate, chill, and cut into bars. You could even use it as a filling between two cookies (like a Whoopie Pie, but with cookie dough!). For Valentine's or any special occasion, consider creating mini cookie dough sandwiches using graham crackers or even actual cookies. Presentation is everything, especially for Valentine's Day chocolate treats. Once your chocolate-dipped cookie dough hearts are set, you can place them in mini cupcake liners inside a decorative box. Tie it with a ribbon, and you have a thoughtful, homemade gift. They also look fantastic arranged on a dessert platter with other sweets for Valentine's, like fresh berries or small candies. This recipe is really a fantastic answer to 'what to do with extra cookie dough' – it transforms it into something elegant and irresistible. Plus, the joy of making something so delicious and pretty with minimal effort is incredibly satisfying. Give it a try, you won't regret it!
