The reality of makeup
I know I am not the only one pressured to feel like my skin has to be perfectly smooth in todays society. Glass skin is the ultimate goal. Let’s be real though!! We ALL have different types of skin and have struggled with different problems.
I had a lot of acne when I was younger and as an adult I still get breakouts. I have lots of acne scars and hyperpigmentation from it. In top of that I have oily and sensitive skin!! When it’s winter I can easily get super dry and the oils in my face don’t help this paradox. I also don’t shave my face! That would totally break me out and make it way worse. I do thread my face every now and then but have to make sure to apply a quick moisturizer afterwards to not irritate my skin as much!
My makeup is not the best as this is the third time I’ve done it in a year! But I wanted to hop on and show you what real skin looks like with makeup. Good makeup application requires a good skincare routine as its foundation. I have my routine but it does not change the fact I still deal with things and texture will show up no matter how good of a skincare routine. TEXTURE IS NORMAL.
Also, I have worked in the beauty industry so I do know a thing or two. So please while I appreciate suggestions, right now is not the best of times for one. I just wanted to get on here and give my opinion.
Thank you for reading my rant yall. I know it can be a bit much but it’s been on my mind a lot lately. Like why can’t we just be happy being ourselves? There’s so many other things more important but as soon as I hop on social media the insecurity and self criticism begins. There’s so many other good things online but there’s so much of this too.
