Brain Fog 🤝🏼 ChatGPT
Nothing groundbreaking but just a friendly reminder to fellow postpartum moms, or anyone else whose brain has simply left the building:
You can literally just tell ChatGPT what you have on hand and ask it what to make for dinner & it’s totally okay. 😉
For some reason my postpartum brain fog makes planning meals & groceries feel impossible. I just cannot for the life of me seem to focus and remember how to plan these things. I buy the most random items, mostly snacks, and then every day, every meal, I struggle with figuring out what I’m actually going to feed my family. It seems like such a simple task, but sometimes the brain can’t deal. 🤷🏻♀️ IYKYK.
Today I decided to just ask ChatGPT - I gave it a list of some of the ingredients I had on hand, it gave me a few ideas, then I picked one and asked for an air fryer version of the recipe.
Boom. Family fed, and I’ll probably use one of the other ideas from the list tomorrow. Work smarter, not harder and give yourself some grace if “simple” tasks feel impossible sometimes. 💜

Postpartum brain fog can significantly impact a new mom's cognitive functions, making everyday tasks such as meal planning feel overwhelming and exhausting. This cognitive slowdown often affects memory, concentration, and decision-making, which makes organizing groceries and preparing meals a challenge. Fortunately, integrating AI tools like ChatGPT into daily routines offers practical support for managing these challenges. ChatGPT is an AI language model capable of generating creative and practical solutions based on the ingredients you have on hand. By simply listing available foods — such as little potatoes, smoked sausage, green beans, and pantry staples — users can receive customized, easy-to-follow dinner ideas, reducing the mental load of meal planning. This approach empowers moms experiencing brain fog to work smarter, not harder, and preserves precious energy for other postpartum priorities. A popular and convenient method is adapting recipes for the air fryer, a tool praised for quick, healthy, and low-effort cooking. For example, a recommended air fryer sheet pan dinner includes halved potatoes, sliced smoked sausage, and trimmed green beans tossed with olive oil, garlic powder, and seasoning. Par-cooking the potatoes before adding the other ingredients ensures proper texture and flavor, resulting in a delicious, family-friendly meal ready in under 40 minutes. These AI-generated meal ideas also promote utilization of available ingredients, preventing food waste and encouraging more balanced nutrition despite the mental fatigue caused by brain fog. Moreover, using ChatGPT for meal suggestions can alleviate the frustration often experienced when thoughts feel scattered, allowing for a more peaceful postpartum experience. In summary, leveraging ChatGPT to create tailored, simple recipes is a valuable strategy for postpartum moms facing brain fog. It not only simplifies dinner decision-making and grocery shopping but also nurtures wellbeing by enabling more time for rest and caregiving. Incorporating AI meal assistance into postpartum self-care routines is a practical and empowering way to embrace grace during a demanding life phase.

I do this whenever I run out of meal ideas or if I’m in between grocery runs and it makes things so much easier
