Need help finding a new gel :)
I want to try out new hair gels that will hold my hair in place alllll day!
Photo 1. is my hair natural hair with probably leave in conditioner
Photo 2. is how I wear it all the time, I use either Got2b or Let’s Jam depending on what type of day I’ll be having to lay it down.
Got 2 b works well for me, but I do hate having to wash my hair almost every time I use it.
Thank you in advance😌✨

Oh my gosh, I totally feel your pain about finding the perfect hair gel that actually holds all day without the dreaded buildup! It's such a struggle, right? I've been there, loving the hold from certain gels but then dreading wash day because of the sticky residue or flakes. It's like you need a whole detox just to get your hair feeling clean again! From my own experience and what I've learned from fellow curly girls and those who rock sleek styles, the key often lies in the ingredients. Many gels that cause a lot of buildup are silicone-heavy or contain certain polymers that just cling to your hair. When you're looking for a gel that won't cause buildup, especially if you have dry hair, water-based formulas are usually a lifesaver. They tend to be lighter and wash out much more easily, reducing that heavy, coated feeling. For all-day hold that doesn't leave you with a mountain of flakes or residue, I've had some great luck with a few brands that really stand out. If you're currently using Got2b and Let's Jam for that amazing hold on your braided hair or sleek ponytail, you're probably looking for something equally strong but less... demanding on wash day! One of my go-to recommendations for a long-lasting hold without the buildup is Eco Styler Gel (especially the Argan Oil or Olive Oil versions). They offer fantastic hold, keep my edges laid, and I find they don't flake as long as I don't use too much. Plus, they're super affordable. Another one I've heard amazing things about, and tried myself, is Pattern Beauty's Strong Hold Gel. It's designed for textured hair, gives incredible definition, and washes out cleanly. It truly keeps my curls locked in without feeling crunchy or gross. If "dry hair gel" is a big concern for you, look for gels that contain moisturizing ingredients like aloe vera, glycerin, or natural oils. Mielle Organics Rosemary Mint Strengthening Edge Gel is fantastic for edges and gives a firm hold while also nourishing. It's great if you're trying to grow out your edges too! For a more all-over hold on your main hair, Camille Rose Curl Maker gives a flexible, long-lasting hold with lots of moisture. It's more of a curl definer but works wonders for controlling frizz and keeping styles intact without getting hard or flaky. Honestly, the trick to avoiding buildup even with a good gel is also how you apply it. A little goes a long way! And sometimes, layering products can cause issues. If you use a leave-in, make sure it's fully absorbed before applying your gel. Also, don't forget to clarify your hair regularly, even with "no-buildup" gels, to ensure a fresh start. A good clarifying shampoo once a month can make a huge difference in how your hair responds to products. Hope these recommendations help you find your new holy grail gel that keeps your hair from moving all day, without the wash-day woes!

The best hair gel!!
