My 1st & 2nd Trimester Symptoms! 🤍🤰🏽

Hi Mama’s! I figured I would make a post about First Trimester symptoms versus Second Trimester symptoms I personally had and are currently having now that I’m in the second trimester! Both trimesters have been drastically different filled with new symptoms! I’ve learned to fully embrace each symptom and I am so grateful for this little precious life growing inside my belly. 🥹🫶🏼💓 We can’t wait to meet her in April!

What symptoms did you have? Are you currently pregnant? When are you due? Comment below! I’d love to get to know other mamas and relate if we have had similar symptoms during pregnancy and carrying our little ones!

Since this is my first baby, I really felt the effects in the first trimester with my body adjusting to pregnancy! Especially in the second too! It’s been such a beautiful and humbling experience and I’m learning more about it all each day! When I first found out I was pregnant, I craved grilled cheese and tomato soup!! That’s all I wanted. 😂 Now, my craving every morning is 2 eggs on a mini tortilla with cheese & hot sauce to dip!! It’s my go to pregnancy breakfast! Haha! What’s your biggest craving during pregnancy? I’d love to know in the comments! Let’s connect friends! 🥰 #pregnancy #pregnancysymptoms #firsttrimester #secondtrimester #april2024baby #firsttimemom

... Read moreMany of us go into pregnancy hearing about the 'second trimester glow,' and after a challenging first trimester, I was certainly hoping for it! My first trimester was a whirlwind of emotions and physical changes. The fatigue was overwhelming; it felt like I could sleep for days, and simple tasks became monumental efforts. I also experienced intense sensitivity to aromas – everything from my partner's coffee to leftovers in the fridge could send me running to the bathroom with nausea. Food aversions were real, making meal times a struggle, and it was hard to keep anything down besides very specific cravings like that grilled cheese and tomato soup. Mood swings were another big one; one minute I was teary-eyed over a commercial, the next I was irritated by something trivial. It's truly incredible how much your body is adjusting during those initial weeks, and for me, that often meant battling persistent acid reflux after almost every meal. Looking back, I definitely had some weight loss due to how little I could eat comfortably. Then came the second trimester, and for me, there was a noticeable shift! While not every symptom vanished overnight, the intense, debilitating fatigue began to lift, and with it came a welcome boost of energy. This was a huge relief and really made me feel more like myself again, allowing me to enjoy walks and stay more active. The severe nausea and food aversions also largely subsided, although the acid reflux, unfortunately, decided to stick around as a more persistent companion. It’s funny how cravings evolve; my early comfort food desire for grilled cheese transformed into a daily ritual of eggs on a tortilla with hot sauce – quite the change! One of the most magical parts of the second trimester has been feeling our baby become so active. Those little flutters turning into definite kicks are such a beautiful reminder of the life growing inside. Along with this activity, I started experiencing some stretching pains as my belly grew, which is a gentle reminder of the amazing physical changes happening. My mood also significantly improved; those drastic mood swings from the first trimester mellowed out, and I felt a general sense of well-being and excitement. And yes, the nesting urge definitely kicked in! I found myself organizing everything, from baby clothes to kitchen cabinets, with an almost unstoppable energy – a stark contrast to my first-trimester self who just wanted to nap. It's fascinating to compare these two phases of pregnancy. The first trimester felt like a survival mission, focusing on managing discomfort and just getting through each day. The second, while bringing its own set of experiences like growing pains and continued acid reflux, felt much more about connecting with the baby and preparing for her arrival. The return of my energy and improved mood has been a game-changer, allowing me to truly embrace this journey. If you're currently in your first trimester struggling, know that there often is a light at the end of the tunnel. And if you're in your second, enjoy those kicks, the improved mood, and perhaps even that nesting frenzy! Every pregnancy is unique, but sharing our experiences helps us all feel a little less alone.
