Scent Science My Perfectly Balanced Layering Combo
One question I get a lot is: How do you choose what to layer? Let me take you inside my process!
I always start with notes—Fragrantica is my go-to for checking what stands out in a fragrance. Today, I wanted Snif’s Heal the Way to be the star. The key notes that stood out to me were Davana, Vanilla Absolute, and Pistachio. So I built my layering combo around these notes for a seamless blend.
Step 1: The Base (Moisturizer & Body Oil)
• Bath & Body Works Cozy Vanilla Bourbon – This fragrance mist and cream are packed with Vanilla Absolute, which complements Heal the Way’s vanilla note perfectly.
• Brown Banana Foster Body Oil (Inspired by Ambrosia Imperiale) – This oil not only adds depth with Davana (connecting to Heal the Way) but also introduces a new element—Banana!
Step 2: The Enhancers (Perfumes & Mists)
• Kayali Maui in a Bottle – This enhances the banana note while adding a creamy coconut vibe. Since I don’t want it to overpower, I apply it only to pulse points.
• Mix:Bar Vanilla Bourbon – This ties everything together by reinforcing the Vanilla Absolute and adding a boozy bourbon twist.
• Snif Heal the Way (The Star!) – Finally, I apply this to balance all the notes and bring everything together into a cozy, gourmand masterpiece.
I always say layering is like a science experiment—finding the perfect balance to create a scent that smells intentional and unique! It may sound like a lot, but when done right, it’s pure magic. ✨
