... Read moreHey fitness fam! So many of you have asked about my gym routine and what keeps me going, so I thought it was time to really open up here. For me, 'gym life' isn't just about lifting weights; it's a huge part of my #gettoknowme journey. It's where I find my peace, push my limits, and honestly, discover a stronger version of myself every single day. My fitness journey started a few years back, not because I was aiming for a specific body type, but because I felt a bit sluggish and wanted more energy. I remember walking into the gym for the first time feeling completely intimidated. Everyone seemed to know exactly what they were doing! But I told myself, 'You've got to start somewhere.' I began with simple cardio and bodyweight exercises, slowly building my confidence. Now, a typical week for me usually involves 4-5 gym sessions. I love a good mix of strength training and some high-intensity interval training (HIIT). I usually split my strength days: one day for upper body (think shoulders, back, chest, arms), another for lower body (glutes, quads, hamstrings), and then a full-body day or a core-focused session. My favorite exercises? Definitely squats and deadlifts – they make me feel so powerful! And for cardio, I’m a big fan of the stair climber; it’s a killer but so effective. Of course, it’s not always a smooth ride. There are days when motivation is nowhere to be found, or I feel too tired after work. On those days, I remind myself of my 'why.' It’s not just about physical results, but the mental clarity and energy it gives me. Sometimes, just showing up is the biggest victory. I also have a killer pump-up playlist that never fails to get me in the zone! For anyone just starting out or feeling stuck, my biggest advice is this: Start Small: Don't try to do everything at once. Pick 2-3 days a week and focus on consistency. Find What You Enjoy: If you hate running, don't force yourself! Try dancing, swimming, cycling, or group classes. Fitness should be fun. Prioritize Form Over Weight: It's better to lift lighter with perfect form than heavier with bad form and risk injury. Listen to Your Body: Rest days are crucial for recovery and muscle growth. Don't skip them! Celebrate Small Wins: Every workout is a step forward. Acknowledge your progress, no matter how small. This gym life has truly transformed me, inside and out. It's taught me discipline, resilience, and the importance of self-care. I hope sharing a bit more about my journey inspires you to embark on or continue your own fitness adventures.
