Day 6 | Coming to acceptance
It’s day 6 of the breakup and It has been close to a week I’ve last saw you. Today, my heart doesn’t feel heavy as yesterday, but I thought about you a lot of times. I wonder how are you doing and I just wanted to know if you’re doing okay by reaching out to you.
But I know that I shouldn’t as much as I want to. If I ever do, I know I’d never get over you, I know my why’s to you will never end, the never ending questions of why did we have to end.
I’m not sure if I’m coming to an acceptance that you’re no longer in my life, the wounds still hurt, the pain is still here and the breakup is still fresh. I think of you, I wonder about you, everything about you but I know one thing is that you are no longer a part of my life, my routine anymore.
This time, this space, this breakup it may be a lesson for me to learn how to be alone, to learn what I truly deserve and how valued and worthy to myself without seeking validation. It’s so hard, it’s so tiring and I feel like giving up but I know I have to go through this, to go through this time by learning how to value myself and appreciate the time alone. Being alone, is scary, is the feeling of loneliness, the feeling of not having anyone there at the end of the day or mid day to text you to greet you good morning to just have all the things you used to do with someone you love. It’s never easy but I’m willing to keep going and keep showing up for myself.
I may not be the strongest version of myself, I may not be the best, I may not be always happy and smiling but I know someday I’d get there, someday I’d look back at this post and be proud of myself for going through this because it is helping me to shape myself to a better person.
To all the heartbroken people, if you are able to relate to this, please know that you never have to go through alone. You are not alone and there is someone out there waiting for you it is just not the time yet.
Also, I’m open to having dms/ talks if you guys ever need, like me I am trying to gain back myself and I am open to making friends and to go through it together. ❤️

Navigating the early days after a breakup is one of the most challenging emotional periods many people face. On day six, as described in this personal reflection, the initial shock may begin to fade, but the pain and questions often linger. From my experience, accepting that someone you cared deeply about is no longer part of your daily life is a gradual process filled with mixed emotions. What I’ve found helpful during this acceptance phase is to embrace solitude not as loneliness, but as an opportunity for self-discovery. It’s the time to reconnect with your own values, passions, and what truly makes you happy outside of a partnership. Often, in relationships, we seek validation from others, but healing invites us back to self-validation and unconditional self-love. The excerpt from the image, where healing is described as learning to smile a little wider and stand a little taller, resonated deeply. It reminds me that healing isn’t about forgetting the past quickly but about slowly putting oneself back together stronger and more resilient. There will be days of doubt and exhaustion, but persistence is key. During this phase, reaching out to others who are also healing can build a powerful support network. Whether through messages, support groups, or friends who understand, sharing experiences reduces feelings of isolation. It’s comforting to know you’re not alone in this journey, as the article emphasizes. Ultimately, acceptance doesn’t mean forgetting; it means honoring what the relationship meant while choosing to move forward. It’s about building a new routine where self-care, patience, and hope take center stage—reminding ourselves that a brighter chapter lies ahead. If you are heartbroken, remember, healing is a step-by-step journey. Keep showing up for yourself, just like the author is courageously doing.
