making healthier millionaire bars
I was kind of craving something sweet and wanted something to keep in the fridge as an after dinner sweet little treat decided to make the healthier bars from @thefitlondoner on Instagram. I won’t be putting the recipe here because you should go follow her recipe but honestly, these were super super good. I’m not typically a fan of swapping out dates for sugar and recipes because I think a lot of times dates can be really overly sweet, but I guess that’s only when you add additional sweeteners. the caramel in the middle comes together with any kind of nut butter, dates, coconut oil and it really does taste and smell super super good. More of a peanut griddle flavor I think. look at the picture and you’re thinking that looks terrible because I did not use parchment because I could not figure out how to get it to stay in a square pan lol I cut them into little squares. Even though mine don’t look super pretty they taste amazing and I highly recommend making this recipe. and definitely satisfy my after dinner craving without a billion calories and on the healthier side. note: I swapped the maple syrup for a sugar-free maple syrup and the dark chocolate for lilys just made with Stevia to help further lower the calories and not add too much sugar and I think that worked really well

Millionaire bars are a delicious treat that can be made healthier by using natural sweeteners and wholesome ingredients. Instead of traditional sugars, consider using pitted dates, which provide a rich, caramel-like flavor while also being nutrient-dense. Combining these dates with nut butter and coconut oil creates a deliciously creamy texture that is both satisfying and healthier than conventional versions. When making millionaire bars, choosing the right chocolate is essential. Opt for dark chocolate made with stevia or other natural sweeteners to lower the sugar content, while still enjoying the chocolatey goodness. If you're looking to boost the nutritional value, adding nuts or seeds can also provide extra protein and healthy fats. Not only will you enjoy a treat that satisfies your sweet cravings, but you'll also nourish your body. Experiment with different flavors by incorporating ingredients like almond extract or vanilla to customize your bars to your taste! Remember, healthy eating doesn't mean sacrificing flavor.
