How I Made This Swing Ride Model

I started with the boring electrical stuff, yk what makes it spin, light up, and play music. Then I built the base around that. I then made the center pole like thing surrounded with mirrors and attached to the base with gears and screws. After that I made the swing chairs, which are so adorable and SO delicate! I broke like two… And finally I made the gorgeous top and attached the chairs and base to it and it was done!

This project was so finicky and quite difficult. I broke many pieces and I can no longer feel the tips of my thumbs:/

I had been working on this for about 5 hours for a total of three nights so roughly 15 hours in total.

Although It looks amazing, it does have a hard time spinning sometimes you have to give it a good push. Other than that it works well.

This was very fun to work on and I enjoyed it a lot!

... Read moreCreating a swing ride model is a rewarding craft project that combines engineering, artistry, and patience. From my experience, starting with the electrical components such as motors, lights, and sound elements sets the foundation for a functional and entertaining model. These elements are crucial because they make the ride spin, light up, and produce music, which brings your project to life. Once the electrical base is assembled, building the core structure around it, like the center pole with mirrors and surrounding gears, is next. This section requires precision and care as the moving parts must fit perfectly to avoid mechanical issues. Using quality gears and screws will enhance stability and durability, ensuring the ride can spin smoothly with occasional gentle pushes. Crafting the swing chairs was particularly challenging yet gratifying. The delicate nature of the chairs means that working slowly and methodically prevents breakage. Expect to practice a few times before perfecting each piece. The chairs also need to be properly aligned and securely attached to the upper structure for both aesthetic appeal and functionality. The final step involves assembling the gorgeous decorative top and attaching all components together. This stage brings the model to completion and is a great moment to appreciate your hard work. Despite minor issues like a swing ride that occasionally needs a push to spin, the overall success lies in the model’s visual charm and operation. Working on this project over multiple nights, about 15 hours in total, highlights the patience and dedication required for detailed model making. It’s common to face setbacks such as broken parts or tired fingers, but the satisfaction gained from building something tangible and beautiful outweighs these difficulties. For enthusiasts looking to create similar models, I recommend gathering all necessary materials beforehand and setting aside uninterrupted time to focus on each building stage. Documentation of your process, including photos or notes, can be helpful for troubleshooting and sharing with fellow hobbyists. Above all, enjoy the creative process and celebrate each small success along the way!
