... Read moreHey beauties! ✨ Feeling super motivated after my back and shoulder session today, and I just HAD to share my absolute favorite routine with you all. I've been consistently doing these exercises, and the changes I've seen in my strength and how my upper body looks are incredible. If you're aiming for a strong, defined back and shoulders, this is the routine I swear by! Get Ready: Warm-Up First! Before jumping into heavy lifting, a good warm-up is key to prevent injuries and get your muscles ready. I usually do 5-10 minutes of light cardio (like a brisk walk or elliptical) followed by some dynamic stretches like arm circles, shoulder rolls, and cat-cow stretches. Don't skip this part – it makes a huge difference! The Ultimate Back & Shoulder Workout: For Your Back (Let's Build That V-Taper!): Lat Pulldowns (3 sets of 10-12 reps): This one is fantastic for targeting your lats and giving you that V-taper. Focus on pulling the bar down to your upper chest, squeezing your shoulder blades together at the bottom, and controlling the release. I really feel the stretch and contraction with this one! Seated Cable Rows (3 sets of 10-12 reps): Another staple for a thick back! Make sure to keep your back straight, engage your core, and pull the handle towards your lower abdomen. Squeeze those shoulder blades hard! I love how this exercise hits my mid-back. Dumbbell Rows (3 sets of 8-10 reps per arm): Unilateral exercises are great for balancing strength. I usually rest one knee and hand on a bench. Pull the dumbbell towards your hip, keeping your elbow close to your body. It really helps to focus on one side at a time and correct any imbalances. For Your Shoulders (Time to Sculpt!): Overhead Dumbbell Press (3 sets of 8-10 reps): For strong, rounded shoulders! I make sure to press the dumbbells straight up without arching my back too much. Control the weight on the way down. This one always makes me feel powerful and really builds that cap! Lateral Raises (3 sets of 12-15 reps): These are amazing for hitting the side deltoids and giving your shoulders that wider look. Use lighter weights and focus on lifting your arms straight out to the sides, leading with your elbows, until they're parallel with the floor. The burn is real, but so worth it! Face Pulls (3 sets of 15-20 reps): Don't skip these! Face pulls are incredible for shoulder health, posture, and hitting those often-neglected rear delts. I use a rope attachment on a cable machine, pulling it towards my face while externally rotating my shoulders. It feels so good for my posture and helps counteract all that sitting we do. Recovery is Key: Cool-Down! After all that hard work, don't forget to cool down! I spend 5-10 minutes doing static stretches, holding each for 20-30 seconds. Think shoulder stretches, tricep stretches, and chest stretches to open everything up. It really helps with recovery and flexibility, making you feel less stiff the next day. My Top Tips for Success: Consistency is Key! Try to do this workout 1-2 times a week to see real progress. Form Over Weight! Always prioritize proper form to avoid injuries and ensure you're targeting the right muscles. Fuel Your Body! Don't forget to nourish yourself with good nutrition to support muscle growth and recovery. And stay hydrated, too! What are your favorite back and shoulder exercises?
