Where do you find peace?
I find peace outside, in nature, barefoot and natural….a calmness comes over me that I cannot explain. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not the camp in a tent on the ground in the woods without a bathroom and around bears type of nature girl 😂…but I love it regardless. Where do you find simple peace? #peaceinnature #momsover40 #groundedvibes #beauty
It’s so easy to get caught up in daily demands, always putting everyone else’s needs before our own. But I’ve learned that true well-being, and being able to show up fully for others, starts with choosing yourself first. For me, this isn't a selfish act; it's a necessary reset button, and nature has become my most sacred space for it. That feeling of calm I mentioned? It truly comes alive when I step outside. I don't mean an intense hike every weekend, but simply finding a quiet wooded area or even a small park. The sensation of cool earth or soft fallen leaves beneath my bare feet is instant therapy. It's what people call 'earthing' or 'grounding,' and you can actually feel the stress melt away. It grounds my vibes and helps me reconnect with myself. I'm definitely not the 'rough it' type of nature lover – no sleeping in tents for me! But there’s a spectrum of ways to connect. It could be a simple walk surrounded by dense green foliage and towering tree branches, or just sitting quietly, observing the little wonders around you. The beauty is in its simplicity. Sometimes, just seeing the vibrant green and feeling the fresh air is enough to shift my entire mood. One of my favorite things to do is find a spot where I can just breathe, away from screens and distractions. Sometimes it’s a park bench, sometimes it’s just my backyard, but the key is being present. I focus on the sounds, the smells, the feeling of the sun or a gentle breeze on my skin. This mindful connection helps me recenter and reminds me that my peace is a priority. It's about carving out those small moments. Even 15-20 minutes can make a huge difference. For us moms, especially those of us over 40, these moments are crucial for preventing burnout and maintaining our emotional balance. When I prioritize this 'me time' in nature, I return feeling refreshed, more patient, and genuinely happier. It’s a powerful way to 'choose yourself first' without guilt, because you're investing in your capacity to give more fully to everything else. Think about it: when was the last time you truly unplugged and just *were*? For me, those moments in nature are non-negotiable now. They aren't just a luxury; they're an essential part of my self-care routine, grounding my vibes and reminding me of my inner strength. If you haven't tried it, I highly recommend finding your own slice of natural peace. It’s a game-changer for your mental and emotional well-being.
