When I first started my fitness journey, I never imagined how much 'adorable flab' could affect my confidence. That extra body fat, while sometimes seen as endearing or harmless, was something I wanted to lose for better health and appearance. Cutting down wasn’t about extreme dieting, but adjusting my lifestyle step by step. What helped me was focusing on consistency—making sure to get enough sleep each night to aid recovery and reduce stress-related cravings. I swapped heavy weights for lighter ones but increased my reps and sets to boost muscle endurance without bulking up too much. Adding calisthenics made workouts more flexible and functional, fitting into my daily routine without gym dependency. Cardio played a big role. Instead of intense, exhausting sessions, I incorporated steady state cardio that kept me burning fat while preserving muscle. The key was patience and tracking progress. Seeing the weight drop from 82kg down to 73.5kg kept me motivated, and my target of 70kg feels achievable. If you’re battling the so-called 'adorable flab,' remember it’s a journey. Small changes in diet, consistent exercise, and adequate rest can make a big difference. Celebrate each milestone—because those small wins add up to lasting transformation.
