BE RESPECTED

2025/10/21 Edited to

... Read moreBeing respected starts with a deep understanding of your own value and the boundaries you set. Setting boundaries early is crucial because respect begins where your limits are clear—don't hesitate to say no, even if it might disappoint others. This shows that you prioritize your well-being. It's also important to own your voice without over-apologizing or seeking approval. Phrases like "sorry to bother you" or "just my opinion" can undermine your authority. Instead, speak with calm certainty; people tend to respect quiet confidence far more than loud approval-seeking. When you stop over-explaining your choices, you demonstrate that your decisions are final and not up for debate, which naturally commands respect. Emotional boundaries are equally vital. Not everyone deserves access to your feelings—protect your softness and share your emotions only with those who have earned your trust. This selective sharing preserves your inner peace and prevents emotional exhaustion. Knowing when to walk away from friendships, jobs, or relationships that no longer align with your values is a powerful way to show you value yourself. Walking away peacefully conveys self-respect and eliminates the need to beg for crumbs. Ultimately, respect begins from within. When you hold yourself to a higher standard emotionally, mentally, and energetically, others will mirror that standard. Cultivating self-respect not only elevates your aura but makes you untouchable in the eyes of others. Remember, you don't need to prove your worth because you already are the standard.

It's not about how we feel. You were right to ask for respect ans so was she, but your family needed to understand it goes both ways. If she wanted respect then she needed to give it and vise versa. The best respect you could have given each other is talking to each other. Communication opens up so much and can save relationships. If you cannot talk to each other and don't discuss the things that bother you then things don't get better because you are bottling up the pain. Which is a terrible way go live. It doesn't hurt to explain to your child why he or she is being disciplined and reassure them that you love them. Nor does it hurt to explain to your spouse or better half why you are upset, what bothers you, and also reassure them you love them too. Relationships are hard because you have to work at them and yet they can be rewarding give time, work, patience, love, and respect. Teen years are difficult because as teens we are trying to find ourselves. Trying to under- -stand who we are and what we are meant to be. We are being pulled in every direction possible and full of insecurities. We are not quite adults nor are we children. We feel we are ready for responsibility and yet we don't fully understand what responsibility means. As teens we still need guidance, but like when we were kids. We want the information to make decisions on our own not have them made for us. Thus when parents won't explain things and just get angry we get hurt and angry. Why? Because we feel that our parents don't trust us with anything. We aren't told anything so we don't realize that they are afraid for us because they love us and already know where some of our choices will take us. This is something most parents aren't taught growing up and something that needs to be taught along the way. Without understanding and communication relationships fail.
