Foreign snacks:universal yum box Poland edition
1: I grew up in Cameroon and when I was little I remember seeing this ad for chips that look exactly like this, I don’t remember if I ever tried them or if this are the same but these were so good, my favorite in the whole box
2: This tasted weird at first but got better, it’s a butter potato chips, it’s not to salty and kind of like mash potatoes but crunchy
3: This drink reminds me of a drink from my country called grenadine, it was really good
4: This chips were really good, it has a sweet smoky tomato flavor, if I could find this anywhere I would buy again
5: I’m not a big fan of dark chocolate but this was pretty good, if I had to eat “healthy chocolate” I’ll go for this, it has a strong taste and smell of coffee so if you don’t like coffee this might not be for you. This chocolate has the perfect balance of sweet and bitter so I’ll definitely recommend
6: honestly I didn’t know how to feel about this, I was thrown back by paprika flavor n peanuts. It was pretty good but it’s not something I’ll spend money on, I’ll probably eat a little bit if I saw somebody else eat it
7: Not a fan of cinnamon at all, but this I’ll eat, the only reason it got a 5 it’s cuz I’m not a fan of cinnamon
8: This was pretty good, not a big fan of cookies but will keep this in the pantry for a little snack
9: Not something I’ll buy with my own money but will eat if given to it wasn’t bad, my favorite part about this is the lemon cream inside of it
10: cow candy was a nice comfort taste and the jogusie was just so good, I loved it will buy to keep in my purse
For those curious about this, it’s a website named universal yum box, they give you a box of snacks from a different country every month, they have different sizes and I’m currently paying for the large box which is like 47 dollars I think? It’s not over 50. I like to try new stuff and since for the moment I can’t travel to try new things I kinda rely on this. They also give you a little booklet guide with the ingredients and history of the snacks and country, in the same booklet are little trivia to help with your understanding of the country. Overall one of my favorite box from them, my other is Indonesia, I don’t include the stuff that I didn’t like which was like 5items. I’ll greatly recommend if your willing to explore different taste cus they really do be having some interesting flavored snacks, some might even become your favorite
If you read it all the way to here thank you 😭

As someone who loves exploring new cultures through food, I can't recommend Universal Yums enough! It's more than just a snack delivery service; it's a monthly passport to a different country's culinary delights. While my recent Poland box was a standout, the true magic lies in the entire experience, especially when you can't hop on a plane yourself. Each box is a carefully curated selection, and the joy of discovering what's inside is truly special. When your Universal Yums box arrives, don't just rip it open and devour everything! Take a moment to appreciate the journey. I always start by reading the accompanying booklet. It's packed with fun facts about the country, a bit of history, and details about each snack. This context makes tasting so much more meaningful. For instance, knowing the background of a particular Polish treat, like how it's traditionally enjoyed, really enhances the flavor experience. It's like having a mini cultural lesson right at your fingertips. The Poland box, in particular, offered an incredible variety. From savory sensations to delightful sweets, there was something for everyone. I remember digging into the unique potato chips, like the buttery Wiejskie Ziemniaczki Masło z Solą that surprisingly became a crunchy, mashed potato-like delight, or the iconic ghost-shaped Monster Munch that brought back childhood memories for me. Then there were the drinks, like the vibrant Hellena Oranżada, which was a sweet, nostalgic burst. And of course, no international snack box is complete without chocolate! The rich E. Wedel Dark Espresso Flavour chocolate provided a sophisticated bitter-sweet balance. Even less conventional items, such as the paprika-flavored Beskidzkie Coated Peanuts or the subtly spiced Beskidzkie Gingerbread Sticks, push your taste buds out of their comfort zone. It’s what makes these boxes so exciting! It’s inevitable that not every snack will be a 10/10 for your personal palate, and that’s perfectly okay! Part of the fun is trying new things. If something isn't quite to your liking, don't instantly dismiss it. Sometimes a second bite, or sharing it with friends, can change your perception. I often find that what one person dislikes, another absolutely loves. It also makes for great conversation! If it's truly not for you, consider gifting it or even using it in a creative recipe. For example, a less-loved sweet treat could be crumbled over ice cream. So, is Universal Yums worth the subscription? For me, absolutely. In a world where international travel can be challenging, these boxes offer an accessible and affordable way to explore global tastes. The curation, the educational booklet, and the sheer variety make it a fantastic treat for yourself or a unique gift. It introduces you to brands and flavors you’d likely never encounter otherwise, and who knows, you might just discover your new favorite international snack! It certainly beats trying to hunt down individual foreign snacks online or in specialty stores, which can be hit-or-miss and often more expensive. Whether you're a seasoned snack enthusiast or just curious about trying something new, a Universal Yums box, especially one highlighting a rich culinary region like Poland, is an adventure waiting to happen. Each unboxing is a fresh experience, promising delightful surprises and a taste of the world right from your couch.
