hazlo ahora
"Do It Now!" – it sounds so simple, doesn't it? But for the longest time, "later" was my favorite word. I’d tell myself, "I'll start that new hobby later," "I'll reach out to that friend later," "I'll finally tackle that big goal... later." And you know what? More often than not, "later" turned into "never." It was a harsh realization, but also a powerful one. That phrase, "porque algunas veces el después se convierte en nunca..." (because sometimes later turns into never), really hit home for me. How many beautiful moments, chances at happiness, or opportunities for love had I let slip by because I was waiting for the "perfect" time? I started noticing it everywhere. A friend wanting to go on a spontaneous trip, and my first thought was always about logistics and timing. A creative idea popping into my head, only to be shelved for "when I have more time." Even small acts of kindness or self-care, like taking a moment to breathe or sending a sweet message, were often postponed. But life is happening *now*. The future isn't guaranteed, and the past is unchangeable. All we truly have is this very moment. Embracing the "hazlo ahora" mindset has been incredibly liberating. It doesn't mean being reckless or impulsive, but rather recognizing opportunities and acting on them with intention. For me, it started with small steps. Instead of just thinking about tidying up my space, I’d just start with one drawer. Instead of planning a long phone call, I’d send a quick, heartfelt message. And when it came to bigger things, like pursuing a passion project, I broke it down into tiny, actionable pieces. The fear of "never" became a motivator to at least *try*. This shift has brought so much more joy and "amor" into my life. I feel more present, more engaged, and definitely "feliz." There's less room for regret when you know you gave something your best shot *today*. Think about it: what’s one thing you’ve been putting off? Maybe it’s a conversation you need to have, a dream you want to chase, or simply enjoying a quiet moment. What if you just took the first step, right now? It doesn't have to be perfect, it just has to be started. Let’s make "hazlo ahora" our mantra and turn those "nevers" into "nows." What are you going to do today that your future self will thank you for?
