Taking my own newborn photos
If you are like me, you probably want some professional looking photos of your newborn without having to pay the hefty price of a photographer.
One great way to get some professional photos on a budget is to see if any photographers near you are offering mini sessions.
Personally, I take my own photos. I also took my own maternity photos!
I invested in a nice camera a few years ago and did photography professionally for a while but currently I only use my camera for taking our own family photos.
You can just use your phone and follow these simple tips:
1: Take your photos with your back camera only! It’s higher quality
2: take your photos near a window for the best lighting
3: use portrait mode on your phone if you have that option
3: put the baby in neutral colors so their skin tone doesn’t change
4: make sure your background is clean & free of clutter.
5: nurse the baby right before you take the photos. And make sure to clean their face
6: focus on getting the newborn features of your baby that will be gone soon like their tiny hands and feet.
7: set up a tripod and take some photos of yourself with the baby. Even if you don’t feel the most confident in your postpartum body. You’ll want these memories to look back on!
