HOW TO MAKE NEW FRIENDS IN COLLEGE???

#collegediary #lemon8contest #college #collegetips #question

Hey y’all! I’m a sophomore and I really want to expand my circle. I’ve been going to clubs, but it doesn’t seem to be helping much. I’m looking to reach out and make more friends.

Any advice on how to turn acquaintances into friends? Or how to meet new people?

... Read moreMaking friends in college can be a challenging yet rewarding experience. It’s a time of discovery, not only academically but socially as well. Consider joining clubs, organizations, or interest groups related to your hobbies or fields of study. Attend campus events and social gatherings to create opportunities for interaction. Building friendships requires effort and openness. Start conversations with classmates or fellow club members, and don’t hesitate to suggest hanging out outside of structured environments—like grabbing coffee or studying together. It’s important to be yourself and be genuine in your interactions, as authentic connections often stem from shared interests and experiences. Utilizing social media can also be beneficial. Join college-related groups on platforms like Facebook or Instagram where you can engage with others and find study partners or friends. Additionally, consider reaching out through university events or seminars that cater to your interests, allowing you to meet like-minded individuals. Finally, patience is key. Friendships develop over time, so don’t be discouraged by early setbacks or slow progress. Keep putting yourself out there and make an effort to stay in touch with others. You’ll find that many are seeking the same connections, and meaningful friendships will develop naturally.

It’s pretty hard honestly. I would say join clubs you’re interested in. Start conversations even if you’re scared. And most of all make sure you make friends that aligns with you and your goals!
