Since 2016 makeup is back in style๐Ÿ’„๐Ÿ’‹

I havenโ€™t done makeup in almost a year or two but one day I decided to pick it up again. Green and pink being one of my favorite colors I want to create a look centered around the eyes. Since I wear glasses now I barely see my beautiful masterpiece๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚. Anyways hereโ€™s my attempt at blending my favorite styles of the 2016 intense eye looks and the clean girl aesthetic.

Would you ever try this look???#makeup #makeupfails #makeupforbeginner

... Read moreI totally get what you mean about blending older intense eye looks with the clean girl aesthetic โ€“ itโ€™s a modern makeup challenge I love! After seeing your post, I wanted to share some of my own thoughts on how to really nail those contemporary, expressive eye looks that feel edgy but totally wearable, even if youโ€™re a beginner or just getting back into it. When we talk about 'modern makeup trends,' itโ€™s not just one specific look anymore. It's about personalizing and adding a unique twist. While the 'clean girl' look is popular for a fresh base, combining it with a pop of color or a specific technique on the eyes is where true self-expression comes in. Think about soft glam with a graphic liner, monochromatic washes of color, or even a subtle reverse cat-eye. The key is balance โ€“ letting one feature shine. For those 'edgy but wearable ideas,' especially when you're aiming for something with a bit more punch, it often comes down to technique and color choice. Instead of a full-blown smoky eye all the way up to the brow bone, consider a smudged liner with a pop of jewel-toned shadow on the lower lash line, or a cut crease with a metallic accent. Using highly pigmented eyeshadows (like those often associated with brands known for intense colors) can give you that vibrant payoff without needing layers and layers of product. Blending is your best friend here โ€“ truly diffusing those edges makes a huge difference in making a bold look appear polished and not overdone. If youโ€™re experimenting with colors like green and pink, think about where you place them. A vibrant green liner with a soft pink wash over the lid, or a smoky pink outer V with a hint of green in the inner corner, can be incredibly striking. This is where you channel that 'Urban Decay' spirit of bold, blendable colors โ€“ reaching for shadows that pack a punch but don't look muddy when blended. Don't be afraid to use a smaller, denser brush for precision and then a fluffy brush to soften the edges. Itโ€™s all about creating depth and dimension that catches the light. And for my fellow glasses wearers, I totally feel you! To make your eye makeup pop from behind frames, focus on defining the lash line and perhaps a slightly bolder brow. A shimmery inner corner highlight can also make your eyes look brighter and more open. Don't let a 'makeup fail' discourage you โ€“ every artist has a few! It's all part of the learning process. Start with less product and build up slowly. There are so many great tutorials out there for #makeupforbeginner that focus on these kinds of expressive, modern looks. Ultimately, modern makeup is about having fun and expressing your unique style. Whether youโ€™re revisiting old favorites or trying something completely new, the goal is to feel confident and beautiful. Keep experimenting with those gorgeous colors and techniques โ€“ your journey back into makeup sounds so exciting!
