Finish Strong

Scripture: “I waited patiently for the Lord; and He inclined unto me, and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of an horrible pit… and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.”

— Psalm 40:1–2

There are only 15 days left in 2025, and while the journey may have been heavy, God is still faithful. Depression is real, discouragement is real, and weariness is real—but so is God’s presence, power, and promise.

David reminds us that waiting on the Lord is never wasted time. When he cried out, God leaned in. When he felt stuck, God lifted him. When his steps were unsure, God steadied him. The same God who rescued David is the same God who walks with us today.

No pit is too deep, no season too dark, and no burden too heavy for God to reach you. He specializes in restoration. He places new songs in weary hearts and turns testimony into triumph.

As these final days unfold, don’t give up. Wait on the Lord. Trust His timing. Keep your eyes on Him. He is near, He hears you, and He is working—even now.

Prayer:

Lord, thank You for hearing my cry. Lift me out of every pit of despair and place my feet on solid ground. Restore my hope and establish my steps as I finish this year strong. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

... Read moreAs we approach the last 15 days of 2025, many of us find ourselves reflecting on the challenges and victories of the past year. Just like Psalm 40 reminds us, waiting patiently on the Lord is an act of faith that brings profound transformation. This passage illustrates God’s nearness to those who feel brokenhearted or trapped in deep despair — those "horrible pits" where hope seems distant. What’s important to remember is that God is not distant or indifferent during difficult times. He actively hears our cries and reaches into our struggles to lift us out. The daily notes emphasizing that "depression is real, but so is GOD" echo the truth that divine presence offers a powerful source of comfort and strength amid mental and emotional burdens. This is crucial when weariness or discouragement threatens to overwhelm us. Restoration is a key theme here. God specializes in turning our darkest seasons into stories of triumph. For anyone feeling stuck or unsure about the next steps, Psalm 40 offers reassurance that our steps can be established firmly when we trust in God’s timing and promises. It encourages us not to give up but to hold fast — knowing that God places new songs of joy in weary hearts. Moreover, as the year closes, this message invites intentional reflection on the spiritual journey of 2025. How have moments of waiting on God shaped your faith? Where have you seen His restoration at work? Embracing this perspective can renew hope and motivate us to finish this year strong, spiritually and emotionally. In personal practice, incorporating prayer, as shared in the article, helps align our hearts with God’s peace: asking Him to lift us out of despair, establish our steps, and restore hope. This spiritual grounding may be exactly what someone needs to face the closing days of the year with courage. Ultimately, Psalm 40 is a timeless reminder that every burden, no matter how heavy, is within God’s reach. You are not alone in your struggles—He hears you, He is near, and He is actively working for your good. That truth can transform the fatigue of the final days into a victorious finish, grounded in God’s faithfulness and unwavering presence.
