STALKER ROMANCE 💘 Book Review 📚

I LOVED this! I haven’t laughed so hard in a book in a long time. Josh is hands down one of the best MMCs I’ve come across. It’s dark but not in your typical dark romance way. It’s like dark humor mixed in with stalker romance. It was a nice break from the norm. Aly is a strong FMC that’s a little unhinged beneath the surface.

The twist in the middle had me laughing as much as I was shocked, which was a lot. The cats playing such a prominent role in the story was really awesome and the banter in general was great.

If you can, go the audiobook route with this one because the readers are great and the man doing Josh’s voice is 10/10.

... Read moreOkay, babes, let me just spill about Lights Out by Navessa Allen because this book completely blew me away! As someone who devours dark romance, I'm always on the hunt for something that stands out, and this 5/5 review is genuinely earned. From the moment I saw the cover – that cool blue skull with an 'X' and a heart – I knew I was in for a wild ride, and Navessa Allen absolutely delivered. What makes Lights Out shine in the crowded space of dark stalker romance? It’s the ingenious blend of genuine darkness with laugh-out-loud dark humor. Seriously, I haven't laughed this hard while reading a romance in ages! If you're tired of typical dark romance tropes and craving something with a fresh, witty edge, this is your next read. The male lead, Josh, is hands down one of the most unique and compelling MMCs I've encountered. He’s possessive, intense, and definitely fits the 'stalker together' vibe, but his internal monologue and interactions are pure gold. He's not just dark; he's got this unhinged charm that makes you root for him even when you know you probably shouldn't. Now, for those of you who, like me, are constantly searching for spicy dark romance books with trigger warnings (and always checking those warnings, because safety first!), Lights Out brings a fantastic level of heat and intensity. While the original review mentions it’s not dark in the typical way, it certainly doesn't skimp on the tension or the chemistry. The connection between Josh and Aly is palpable, and their banter is next-level, adding to the deliciousness. It’s the kind of book where you're fully invested in their twisted romance, craving every interaction, every intense look, and yes, every spicy moment. Aly, the female main character, isn't just some damsel in distress; she's strong, capable, and has her own perfectly unhinged side that complements Josh brilliantly. The way their personalities clash and then perfectly intertwine is just *chef's kiss*. And let's not forget the twist in the middle – I was both shocked and cackling! It’s rare for a book to elicit such strong, diverse reactions from me, but this one managed it effortlessly. The cats playing such a prominent role? Genius! It adds another layer of unique charm to a genre that can sometimes feel a bit formulaic. If you're into books that explore morally gray characters, intense obsession, and a love story that defies convention, Lights Out is a must-read. While it doesn't explicitly delve into 'daddy in the dark novel' territory, it certainly has a dominant, protective male lead who will make your heart race. And if you have the chance, definitely go for the audiobook – the narrators are phenomenal, especially the one voicing Josh. Trust me, you won't regret diving into this darkly humorous, spicy, and utterly unforgettable stalker romance by Navessa Allen.
