I devoured this book, read it in one sitting, no joke!! From the characters to the plot I couldn't get enough. So excited to read the rest of the books in this series.
I am in love with this family. Their found-family dynamic adds so much warmth and depth, and every scene with them felt like a comforting hug with just the right amount of teasing and tension.
While leaving her abusive ex, Penny gets stranded in Lander, Wyoming, due to car issues. The local sheriff, Cas, and his partner see Pennys cars on the side of the road and decide to go help. When Cas realizes why Penny is running he offers her a place to stay at Cas’ family's bed and breakfast.
The chemistry between Cas and Penny is absolutely electric, slow burn, sparks flying, the whole package. Their relationship unfolds with such satisfying emotional depth and character growth that I couldn't stop rooting for them.
I love watching penny gain her independence and blossom into a woman she has always meant to be. I loved watching Cas with Penny. He was so gentle and loving and he loved Penny how she has always wanted to be loved and he calls her sunset (like come on 🤭🥵☺️)
If you love found family, hot cowboys, small-town charm, and romances that make you feel something or you’re just wanting something to be you out of a reading slump this is the book for you.
