How to Categorize items

Why it works 👇

The biggest issue when it comes to organizing is not know what to do with the items in your space. If you create a game plan beforehand it will make this process so much easier!!

✨1. First see the space you want to organize and decide what categories of items should be placed there. This might be hard so look for inspiration of categories online!

✨2. Start with a small part of the space first. Like a drawer or one shelf.

✨3. Being sorting those items into the categories you made beforehand, decluttering what you don’t need along the way!

✨4. If something doesn’t fit, you can:

- make a misc pile

-put it in a different space where it will fit

-trash it

-make a “maybe” pile and at the end see if there is a spot for it in your space

I’m happy to help out with any questions about this process! ❤️🤗

... Read moreOrganizing can be a daunting task, especially when faced with items scattered throughout your home. The key is to start with a structured plan. Firstly, take some time to evaluate the space you want to organize. Identify various categories that make sense for that area, whether it’s kitchen utensils or office supplies. For additional inspiration, a quick search online can provide you with valuable ideas on how to categorize different items effectively. Once you've identified your categories, tackle the organization in manageable segments, focusing on one area at a time, such as a drawer or a shelf. This approach prevents overwhelm and helps you maintain focus. As you begin sorting, it may be helpful to create designated piles: keep, donate, discard, or relocate. If an item doesn’t fit your new organizational scheme, determine its fate by either making a miscellaneous pile, finding a suitable place for it, or reconsidering its necessity. Decluttering is an integral part of this process, as it allows you to reassess what you genuinely need and use. Remember, the aim is to foster a space that reflects peace and functionality rather than chaos. This method of categorizing not only simplifies maintaining order but can also provide a refreshing sense of clarity and control in your home.
