Here’s what you DON’T need to do when organizing ⬇️
✨I. Throw away an item that means something to you.
✨2. Throw away something you actually use.
✨3. Make it look "perfect".
I’m a former Professional Home Organizer and found while working with people and their items these things are not needed! 🙋♀️
I’m not saying we shouldn’t declutter and learn to let items go. I’m saying it’s more important to choose items that mean something to you and let those items go that don’t and aren’t serving you!
So much of organizing is focused on decluttering. While this step is still very important, you should focus on what “being organized” looks like to you. It’s all about what will best serve you and your lifestyle!
And don’t pressure yourself to have the “amazing organized instagram homes”! Most of us don’t have homes with huge amounts of storage, or money to pay for services or organizing products.

When it comes to organizing your home, it's vital to understand that decluttering doesn't mean you have to part with everything that has sentimental value or remains useful. Instead, focus on what items truly resonate with you and enrich your living space. Many people feel overwhelmed by the pressure to achieve a picture-perfect home like those showcased on social media. It’s important to recognize that organizing doesn’t have to be a costly endeavor; simplicity can also bring a sense of order and peace. Moreover, an efficient organizing process first acknowledges the importance of keeping what you love and need, rather than simply getting rid of clutter. Establishing clear goals about what your living space should provide for you can help guide your decisions. Instead of striving for an idealized aesthetic, tailor your organizing strategy to suit your personal lifestyle and storage capabilities. Remember, creating an organized space is a journey, not a race; enjoy the process and tailored solutions that work best for you.

I agree 100%. There are times of purging that are important, and there are times when it is not a priority. I feel like the trick is to have just the things you need, the things that work in your space, and the things you love.
