Normalizing normal homes…Outdoor Edition! ☀️

I love my backyard, but is it perfect or glamorous? Not usually!

We love using our backyard to play with our dog, eat outside, garden, and just enjoy the warm weather. It isn’t about how perfect it looks. It’s about how it serves us ❤️

So many backyards we see on social media are landscaped to perfection or seem like the owner is always right on top of lawn care. Which for me totally isn’t true! And I think for most others as well.

My outdoor usually takes a back seat to my home’s interior and I think that is perfectly normal! Let’s normalize not having perfect outdoor exteriors or lawns for our homes 🏠 because it’s soo hard to keep it that way!!

... Read moreOur outdoor spaces often serve as extensions of our homes, providing relaxation and play. Unlike the meticulously curated gardens we see online, many of us juggle realities like broken patio furniture, overgrown weeds, and imperfect fencing. This article invites you to celebrate the authenticity of your backyard. It’s about creating functional spaces where family gatherings happen, where pets can roam freely, and where you can unwind. Remember, it’s perfectly fine if your garden doesn't match magazine standards! Sharing our experiences can foster an inclusive community where everyone feels comfortable showcasing their ‘normal’ outdoor spaces. Let’s embrace the charm in our unique challenges—place old furniture as garden art, and reuse older outdoor items rather than tossing them aside. Gardening is less about perfection and more about enjoyment, so don’t stress about weeds. Join us in redefining what a beautiful backyard looks like, inviting others to appreciate the simplicity and joy found in authenticity.

Idk about you, but I don’t have an aesthetic house. There is not much of a theme, although I love beachy decor. There are no vaulted ceilings or granite countertops with matching cabinets. There are no steam showers or giant closets. Honestly, I think way more of us live in regular homes than socia
