Vintage front yard details & why I chose them 🏠
While a lot of these decor and plants weren’t specifically planted by us, we decided to keep them because of the beauty it gave our front yard! ❤️
The time and care that was placed into planting and growing was so important to me to upkeep for the previous owners who loved it.
I’ve learned through our front yard that keeping original items, even if they’re older, is more special than buying cheap, brand new items! These plants and decor hold a special place in my heart because of the people who used them before me.
I wanted to keep the porch and front yard as close as I could to what it was before we bought it. And i absolutely love it! Seeing our front yard when I get home always makes me smile 🤗
Maintaining a vintage front yard not only showcases unique plants and decor but also tells a story of love and care from previous owners. From old screen doors that match our century-old wood door to a restored swinging bench for sunset views, every piece has its charm. The time and effort spent by prior owners in cultivating beautiful tulips and lilacs demonstrate a remarkable dedication to creating a welcoming space. Incorporating elements like red mulch aligns with the brick features of the house while simplifying lawn care. Vintage decor like an old wooden birdhouse adds a playful feel, inviting guests to engage with our cozy porch. Every detail, from the temperature reader to little window curtains, enhances the vintage vibe while offering privacy. By preserving these elements, we're not just decorating; we're honoring the history of our home and creating a space that truly feels like our own.
