Best air filter & purifier for your home 🏠

We got this air filter over a year ago when I started having some breathing problems when sleeping. It was because of our old home and just some of the air coming up from our basement!

Ever since we’ve used this filter I’ve never had any breathing issues and our bedroom always smells fresh when we wake up in the morning!

It helps my husband who has a very minor allergy to dogs too. Because our poodle sleeps with us, so this filter helps him to never be bothered by her!

I love this brand because they’re energy star certified, it can cover up to 1800sq feet, and the UV light filter helps to keep our air even cleaner!

We actually got this air filter brand new off of Facebook marketplace for $20! So definitely check there first, or you can buy them off Amazon or the companies website! The name of the air filter is at the top in the second photo 🤗

... Read moreSince so many of you have asked about the nitty-gritty details of my GermGuardian air purifier, I wanted to share some of the practical tips and features that make it such a powerhouse for clean air at home! When I first got it, I was mostly focused on the relief it brought for my breathing, but over time, I've really appreciated the thoughtful design and ease of maintenance. Let's talk about the heart of it: the HEPA filter. From my experience, this is absolutely crucial for trapping all those microscopic nasties – pet dander from our poodle, dust, pollen, and other allergens that used to bother my husband so much. When you open up the back, you'll see a rectangular, pleated filter. This isn't just any filter; it's designed to capture 99.97% of airborne particles as small as 0.3 microns. Knowing this gives me so much peace of mind! The air purifier control panel is super intuitive once you get the hang of it. You'll notice the power button, of course, and then typically three fan speed settings. I usually keep mine on a medium setting overnight, but during allergy season or if I'm cooking something smelly, I'll crank it up to high. There's also that prominent UV button, often accompanied by a blue light strip. When the UV light is on, it's actively working to kill airborne germs, viruses, and mold spores, adding an extra layer of purification that I really value, especially with kids around. You'll also see indicator lights for the filter status and potentially the UV light itself. One of the most common questions I get asked, and something I looked up myself initially, is about the GermGuardian filter reset button! It's one of those things you only need to do every few months, but it's important. When your filter light comes on (it might be green, then turn red or blink), it's telling you it's time for a new replacement filter. I usually order mine from Amazon or directly from the GermGuardian website to ensure I get the right fit. Once you've replaced the old, dirty filter with a fresh one, plug the unit back in. To reset the filter light, you usually press and hold the filter reset button (or sometimes the power button for about 5 seconds if it's combined) until the light clears. The same applies if your UV light has a separate indicator – just press and hold the UV button until it resets. It's truly that simple, and the instructions are often right on the panel itself, just like you'd find some key tips in an owner's manual. Beyond filter changes, general maintenance is a breeze. I make sure to periodically wipe down the exterior of the unit and gently vacuum the intake vents to prevent dust buildup. This keeps the air flowing efficiently and helps prolong the life of the filters. Understanding these small details has really helped me get the most out of my air purifier, ensuring our home always feels fresh and we all breathe a little easier. It's not just a purchase; it's an investment in our home's health!
