What you should ACTUALLY store in a fireproof safe
We used to just have these documents organized and in a bin, BUT I was so worried about them getting lost, stolen, or ruined from fire or water.
So we chose to get a fireproof safe to keep our most important documents safe from anything! How we chose what should go in the safe:
-Would it be easy to get his document reprinted if we lost it?
-Are these documents tied to items we own?
-Are these documents ones we need to prove our identities?
-In an emergency, would we want these documents to be the ones we grabbed first?
Through these questions we came to the conclusion to keep our marriage documents, recent tax documents, home documents, and our identity documents here.
That way if there’s an emergency we can easy grab all of these. Or we can know they would be kept safe through a fire, flood, or theft.
