Learn from my cleaning fails! What NOT to do 🧼

I feel like there’s always been some areas in our home where we’ve been clueless on how to really clean. Which is why I’m so grateful for places like Lemon8 where people can share tips!

I’d definitely look into the easiest ways to deep clean areas. Because deep cleaning is already hard so if there’s simpler solutions to save you time then that’s a win!

I’d also research different cleaning products for different surfaces. You don’t want to damage your home and you might have a preference of what ingredients are placed in your cleaning products. So definitely do your research as to what will be best for you!

All of these fails came from experience of cleaning routines or products just not working for me! I realize some of the products I mention might not work for you or you might enjoy a different product or approach to clean different areas!

🗣️I would love to hear your experience or advice on any cleaning tips you’ve learned over the years! 🧼

... Read moreCleaning can be daunting, especially with the plethora of products and methods available. One common pitfall is using a single multipurpose cleaner for multiple surfaces. While it seems convenient, different materials require specific products to avoid damage. For example, glass cleaner can be surprisingly effective on stainless steel, leaving it streak-free and shiny. Another mistake is neglecting to use a hard water remover on sinks, which can lead to stubborn stains. Consider using specialized products like Lime-a-way to tackle mineral buildup effectively. Also, don’t underestimate the importance of a proper cleaning technique. Hand-cleaning baseboards can lead to back pain; instead, attach a microfiber cloth to a mop and clean from a comfortable height. Adopting smarter methods can enhance your cleaning routine. Lastly, be inquisitive! Engage with your cleaning community to share tips and discover new products. Each individual's experience contributes to finding the best cleaning techniques suited to your home.

Dawn power wash also works wonderful for stainless steel appliances! That’s all I use for my stove and refrigerator.
