Forgetting to deep clean your dishwasher? ✨
This is how I’ve found to deep clean my dishwasher. When it starts smelling or I see some buildup of gunk I’ll do a deep clean. So about every 6 months is when I clean it!
There are ways advertised to deep clean your dishwasher just by throwing a cleaning product in for a cleaning cycle. BUT a lot of times the dishwasher can’t truly clean certain areas because they are covered during the wash.
So every once in a while you need to get the gunk out so you don’t have a mold problem. This will also help your dishwasher to run better and last longer!
Let me know if you have any questions or if you have any tips to deep clean a dishwasher! I’d love to hear both ❤️

To ensure a thorough cleaning of your dishwasher, start by removing all detachable parts, such as the water spinners and filter cover. Soak these parts in a sink filled with hydrogen peroxide for at least 15 minutes to kill mold and bacteria. Next, use a spray bottle filled with hydrogen peroxide to treat hard-to-reach areas and crevices within the dishwasher. It's vital to focus on spots with visible buildup, as this is where dirt and grime tend to accumulate the most. If you hear sizzling when spraying, it’s a sign that the cleaner is effectively breaking down the gunk. After spraying down the entire interior, use a cloth or bristle brush to scrub away any remaining debris. Rinse the parts and put them back in the dishwasher, then run a cleaning cycle with a bowl of hydrogen peroxide on the top rack. This method not only keeps your appliance clean but also prolongs its life, preventing mold issues and ensuring optimal performance. Remember to repeat this process every six months for appliances that see regular use!

Cleaning your dishwasher regularly is great, but I’ve found that staying on top of it from the start can prevent the need for deep cleans.
