How planning your garden can upgrade your plants🌱

I had never planned out a full garden until this spring and I love it!! It took quite a bit of planning for where I wanted everything to go. I overall wanted a cute area for some plants and a big area for planter boxes and lots of plants!

So I chose to have my planter boxes more in the back and my spaced out plants towards the front. I also had to choose good areas with efficient sunlight and places I could water easily because I don’t have drip hoses.

My goals for my planter boxes was to pump put as many different types of plants I could in a certain amount of space. And so far they’ve worked amazing and have given me plants to harvest!!!

I also love my landscaped garden. Even though it doesn’t yield as much fruit & veggies it is cute and still works. Which is what my goal has been for that area.

... Read moreCreating a successful garden requires more than just planting seeds; it begins with careful planning. Here are some key considerations: 1. **Sunlight Requirements**: Each plant species has different sunlight needs. Aim for a location with 5-10 hours of sunlight daily, ensuring your plants thrive without getting scorched. 2. **Spacing**: Proper spacing is essential to prevent overcrowding. Research how much room each plant type requires and plan accordingly to allow for their full growth. 3. **Soil Quality**: The right type of soil can significantly impact plant health. Most plants thrive in compost or specialized seed-starting soil, with at least 10 inches of depth for root expansion. Adding layers like cardboard or wood chips can help retain moisture and reduce weeds. 4. **Garden Design**: Define the purpose of your garden. Are you focusing on aesthetics or maximizing yield? This choice will guide your design, including the use of planters and decorative elements. For instance, painted pots can create a cohesive look while also being functional. By incorporating these elements into your garden planning process, you can achieve an inviting, efficient, and productive gardening space that brings joy and satisfaction.

Bulbs come in all shapes and sizes—and their ideal planting depth depends on how big they are! The golden rule? Spring bulbs should go in the ground 2–3 times as deep as their total height (top to bottom). That means tiny bulbs get a shallower spot, while big bulbs need to be tucked deeper down. No
