4 random photos n a rant
okay so i am a server amongst other things at my jobs and boyyy let me tell you! from customers not giving 20% or managers being assholes or coworkers complaining about every thing and all of us expressing to multiple managers things need to change n them giving you a thumbs up n practically making it worse, the restaurant industry is not for everyone.
i have a manager who i don’t think was given a fair chance ever and my gm n other manager continuously make her shift a absolute shitshow in hopes she will just quit …. 😃😃 yea yea you heard that right , PURPOSELY. MAKES. HER. SHIFT. A SHITSHOW. mind you us as the staff are the ones who are actually getting fucked over. like you’re not only making her life hard you’re making ours 40x HARDER.
and then so as a employee at my work of establishment, in 3 months of working you get a card that will make your whole check 50% off, as a employee if you use that card you’re supposed to tip 20% off the original total or you could get into trouble, and unfortunately we have 1 manager only doing the write ups for it. like it was in our entire orientation video 😀😀
this job is mentally draining, from always being understaffed to no one getting a thank you or anything but rather hearing managers complain about how it could have went better. but as ever staff member getting paid 5.20/hr we are doing 76 jobs bc our managers don’t do anything bc they depend on us to do it all. make it make sense?? i also learned that this server who wanted some host shifts bc we technically only have one is getting paid $15 to do it but i offered to help months ago n my host shifts im only getting paid $12. i have been here for almost a year n she’s pushing 3 weeks. it’s absolutely mind boggling to me.
that’s my work rant, im sorry lmao
go ahead give me your work rant in the comments i’d love to hear em!!!
Working in the restaurant industry can be both rewarding and challenging, often characterized by long hours, low pay, and high stress. In addition to handling demanding customers, servers often deal with managerial inconsistencies and workplace politics, which may lead to burnout and dissatisfaction. With many establishments understaffed, servers find themselves juggling multiple roles, creating a chaotic environment. Moreover, tipping culture significantly impacts a server's earnings, with expectations to tip on discounts complicating matters further. This pressure can contribute to a feeling of being undervalued, particularly when management fails to recognize employee efforts. To make a positive change, open communication between management and staff can foster a supportive work environment, ultimately benefiting both employees and patrons alike. Finding a healthy work-life balance is essential; sharing experiences can create solidarity among staff and promote a culture of support. Engaging with fellow servers through online communities or social platforms can provide a necessary outlet for sharing rants and coping strategies, helping individuals navigate the complexities of their roles in this fast-paced industry.
