Pennywise glam
Are you ready to truly transform into the most iconic horror clown this Halloween? Creating a Pennywise glam look doesn’t have to be super complicated, and I’m here to walk you through my personal process to achieve a head-turning, spooky yet stylish IT-inspired face. It’s all about the details and having a bit of fun! First things first, gather your supplies! You’ll need a good quality white face paint (cream or water-activated), a vibrant red face paint or a long-lasting red liquid lipstick, black eyeliner (liquid and pencil are both great), a dark eyeshadow palette (blacks, greys, deep reds), setting powder, and a few brushes (flat, fine-tip, and fluffy blending brushes are key). Step 1: The Pale Base Start with a clean, moisturized face. Pennywise is known for his unnervingly pale complexion, so apply your white face paint evenly across your entire face, including your eyelids and lips. Make sure to blend it down your neck slightly if it will be visible. For a smoother finish, I often dab it on with a beauty sponge and then gently pat it in. Set this with a generous amount of translucent setting powder to prevent creasing and make sure it lasts all night. Step 2: Eyes That Pierce This is where the true terror (and glam!) comes in. Using your black eyeliner pencil, create a dramatic, elongated wing on your upper lash line. Then, smudge a dark grey or black eyeshadow all around your eyes for a sunken, shadowy effect. The key is to make your eyes look deep-set and intense. Don't be afraid to bring the shadow down onto your lower lash line quite a bit. For the signature Pennywise eyebrows, use your black eyeliner or a fine brush with black face paint to draw thin, highly arched brows that look slightly sinister. Step 3: The Iconic Red Features Now for the fun part: the red accents! Using your red face paint or liquid lipstick, draw a perfect red circle on the tip of your nose. Next, for the infamous smile, draw two lines extending from the corners of your mouth upwards and outwards towards your temples, mimicking Pennywise’s exaggerated grin. Fill in your lips with the red, making them look full and menacing. You can even add a few thinner, slightly jagged lines stemming from the main smile lines to suggest cracks or veins, adding to the eerie effect. Step 4: Adding Depth and Details To give your Pennywise glam more dimension, use a fine brush and a tiny bit of black or dark grey eyeshadow to gently contour the hollows of your cheeks and along your jawline. This adds a skeletal, gaunt look. You can also use a fine-tip brush with a tiny bit of red face paint to add subtle, spiderweb-like veins around your eyes or temples for an extra creepy touch. Don't forget to set all the red and black details with setting powder to prevent smudging. Step 5: The Finishing Touches No Pennywise look is complete without the hair and costume! A wild, orange-red wig is essential if you don't have similar natural hair. Pair it with a ruffled clown collar or a full Pennywise costume. And, of course, don't forget your trusty red balloon! A final spritz of setting spray will ensure your masterpiece lasts through all the Halloween festivities. You’re now ready to embody the dancing clown and make everyone float!
