Praying hours
Pray even when you don't feel like it. That's when you prayer harder.
Praying for our unsaved loved ones can sometimes feel like a lonely and daunting journey. We pour our hearts out, often for years, without seeing the immediate changes we long for. There are days when I honestly don't feel like praying, when doubt creeps in, or when I just feel utterly exhausted. But I've learned a powerful truth, echoed by that simple reminder: PRAY ANYWAY. That's when our prayers become warfare, a persistent declaration of faith despite what our eyes see. It's in those moments of weariness that our commitment is truly tested and strengthened. So, what do we pray for when we're lifting up those dear to us who don't yet know Him? I've found focusing on specific prayer points helps me stay engaged and hopeful. First, I pray for their hearts to be softened and receptive. It's easy for people to build walls, but I ask for those walls to come down, allowing the Holy Spirit to work. I pray for conviction, not condemnation, but a gentle nudge from God that reveals His truth and their need for Him. I ask for clarity, that any confusion or misconceptions about faith would be removed, and that they would see Jesus for who He truly is. I also consistently pray for divine appointments. I ask God to place believers in their path – people who can share the Gospel authentically, live out their faith genuinely, and answer questions with grace and wisdom. These could be friends, colleagues, or even chance encounters. Often, the seed of faith is planted through the consistent love and witness of others, not just through our words. Beyond that, I pray for protection from negative influences and spiritual blindness. The enemy loves to keep people from the truth, so I ask for spiritual scales to fall from their eyes, for any lies or strongholds to be broken. I ask for peace to fill their lives, not as the world gives, but a peace that can only come from God, which might lead them to seek its source. To keep my own prayer life energized, especially during those long 'praying hours,' I've found a few things helpful. Sometimes, I write down specific prayers or scriptures that resonate with me regarding their salvation. This helps me stay focused on God's promises rather than my own anxieties. I also try to find a quiet time each day, even if it's just 10-15 minutes, to intentionally bring them before God. Remember, even a short, heartfelt prayer is powerful. Don't underestimate the impact of your persistent prayers. Keep praying anyway, because God hears, and He is always working, even when we can't see it.
