At elevations like this, the air has less oxygen, which can affect everyone — especially older adults, people with respiratory issues, and babies or newborns. You might notice:

• Shortness of breath

• Lightheadedness

• Faster heart rate

• Trouble sleeping or fatigue

📌 If you’re traveling with little ones: Ask your Pediatrician first.

Keep newborns wrapped and warm, avoid too much uphill walking, and don’t stay too long if you or the baby start feeling unwell. It’s beautiful — but respect the altitude.

At this elevation, the oxygen levels are lower, which can lead to potential altitude sickness. Visitors might experience symptoms such as shortness of breath, lightheadedness, and fatigue, particularly if they are not acclimated to such heights. To ensure a safe and enjoyable visit, it is advisable to stay hydrated, avoid strenuous activities upon arrival, and gradually acclimate to the elevation. Particularly for families with small children or older adults, it is crucial to monitor for any signs of discomfort related to altitude sickness. Parents should consult with a pediatrician before taking infants to such high altitudes.
