Come with me to Don Quijote Hawaii ✨

Since I got back from my Japan trip, the withdrawals have been real 🥺

With that being said, Don Quijote has been my happy place to deal with the withdrawals!! ☺️ Sooo many kawaii imported stuff and walking around makes me feel like I’m back in Tokyo (aside from the upcharge of imported goods haha).

When you first walk in, you’re greeted by the iconic Donpen mascot, often sporting a fun Hawaiian shirt – it’s such a cute local touch! But then you dive in, and it’s pure Japanese magic. For beauty lovers, the cosmetics section is a dream. I always make a beeline for the shelves stocked with cult favorites like Shiseido Fino Premium Touch hair masks and Tsubaki Premium Repair Mask – they work wonders! You'll also spot popular makeup brands like Dolly Angel, perfect for finding unique Japanese beauty trends. If you’re into hobbies, prepare to be amazed. The electronics aisle (or at least the dedicated hobby section!) is fantastic. They have an impressive display, including a huge RX-78-2 Gundam statue! You can find tons of Gunpla model kits, plus figures from Pokemon and Naruto. And for something a little different, check out the nanoblock sets – I even saw a cute Hula Girl design that would make a perfect souvenir. And of course, the kawaii factor is off the charts. Beyond the cute kitchen and dining utensils featuring beloved Sanrio characters like Hello Kitty, you can even find colorful rolls of toilet paper adorned with My Melody, Kuromi, and Pompompurin! It's those little touches that bring so much joy. The food section is another highlight. While I grab my usual black coffee, you can explore a vast array of Japanese snacks, candies, and refreshing drinks like Suntory Minami Alps water and I Lohas flavored waters. While I haven't personally checked out a specific sushi counter within this location, the sheer variety of pre-packaged Japanese meals, bentos, and fresh produce (like those sweet potatoes!) makes it easy to assemble a delicious meal on the go. It’s like a mini Japanese grocery store experience all in one. Every visit feels like a little escape back to Japan, and it’s truly one of my favorite spots in Honolulu to cure those travel blues. You won't believe the variety until you see it for yourself!
